A data breach is a security incident in which sensitive, protected or confidential data is copied, transmitted, viewed, stolen or used by an individual unauthorized to do so. Local data protection regulations have required data controllers to report such breaches in certain circumstances.
Argentina’s Protection of Personal Data Law, No. 25326 and accompanying Decree 1558/2001 require that personal data be protected against unauthorized or unlawful processing, and accidental loss or damage.
There is no data breach notification statutory regime, beyond this general requirement.
